Winter Meetings at Salt Hill Pub (Lebanon)

We’re having our winter meetings at Salt Hill Pub in Lebanon (the one on the green). If you’re interested in joining us, let us know through the contact page and we’ll get details to you. We need to know roughly how many people are attending so we can let the pub set up for us.

Happy New Year

Happy 2018! The club is happily in great shape with a healthy membership. As of December, we have established a wait list for student applicants. To get on the wait list, you will need to fill out the application form with application fee. We are still accepting licensed pilots, with preference for those interested in flying our 182RG.

Club Visits Blue Angels

Both club aircraft flew to Brunswick, Maine, last weekend to visit the Blue Angels, see the show and meet the pilots. Our Chief CFI, Dave Kent, was a Crew Chief of the Blue Angels and got the club priority seating.

Congrats to Graduates!

Congratulations to members Sam Lutz and Chessie Newbold who are attending Embry Riddle University this fall, and Misha Turnbull who is attending University of North Dakota. All received their private certificates and beyond in the club. Best of luck to you three in your aeronautical education!

Great June Turnout

We had a great turnout for our June cookout and meeting, June 15th. Along with members we hosted guests interested in the club who got tours of the facilities and aircraft. Nick D’Orsi gave us a rundown of the new Basic Medical process, which he had just gone through. Our next cookout will be July 20th.

182 Goes In For Upgrade

This weekend, the 182 will be ferried to Green Mountain Aviation in Middlebury, Vermont, for it’s avionics upgrade. We’re very excited about this. The 182 is a great flying platform, but the panel has left a lot to be desired and has had problems on a regular basis. So, we’re fixing it! The plane will be down about a month while work is completed. In the mean time, we have our 172 available to all club members.

182 Upgrade

The club membership  voted to upgrade our 182RG and bring it into the 21st century. It’s a great aircraft but the panel has frustrated many of us with various quirks. We have arranged with Green Mountain Avionincs in Middlebury, Vermont, to do the upgrade. Here’s a mockup of the new panel.

182 Panel Great

The upgrade includes:

  • Aspen Pro 1000 with Synthetic Vision and AOA
  • New Garmin Audio Panel
  • New Garmin GTN Touch 650 Navigator
  • New Garmin Nav/Com #2 Radio
  • New Garmin GTX 345 Mode S ADSB-Compliant Transponder

New Rates

The club membership has voted in new rates for 2017. The new rates reward members who fly two or more hours per month with lower total flying cost the more hours flown.  Rate changes will take effect March 1st.

Here’s the breakdown:

Monthly Dues (Regular) $150
Monthly Dues (Student) $75
Cessna 172 Wet Rate per hour tach $108
Cessna 182 Wet Rate (pre-upgrade) per hour tach $134
Cessna 182 Wet Rate (after panel upgrade) per hour Tach $161
